SHAMPOOING & DEEP CONDITIONING YOUR HAIR

Make sure to rinse in cool water so that the curl pattern can remain tight. NEVER use hot water especially when washing curly/wavy hair, it loosens the curl pattern. 

Always wash your hair in a downward motion. 

 Please avoid shampoo and conditioners with sulfates with a PH balance higher than 7 and contain alcohol. 

 Always detangle your hair only with conditioner in, starting from the ends and work your way up to the root. 

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR HAIR: DO'S AND DON'TS 

Always co-wash your hair before installing it. 

DO NOT use small tooth and retail combs. These type of combs can snag the hair which will then cause unwanted shedding.

Neglecting your daily maintenance can cause your hair to become dirty, tangled, and damaged. Taking great care of your hair is essential for ensuring it stays in great condition and last as long as possible. 

We recommend using any lightweight hair serum or hair oil. 

Stay away from alcohol based products. Most alcohols that is used in hair products is known to dry out the hair.

 Avoid using a lot of products in your hair at as it creates product buildup and a film on the hair.

Use ONLY Silicone & Sulfate Free shampoos and conditioners. Silicone causes buildup and doesn't allow moisture to penetrate the hair strands. Sulfate on the other hand strips the hair of its moisture which leads to dryness of the hair. 

BI-WEEKLY MAINTENANCE   

We highly recommend you wash your hair biweekly to remove buildup of products and oil. Wet hair completely before adding shampoo and always wash with COOL WATER. Co-washing is also a option instead of using shampoo. When washing with shampoo be sure to rinse hair out thoroughly.

After washing, you will get your conditioner and apply it all through the hair, brush it through with a styling brush. Then let conditioner sit for at least 8-10 hours.  For extremely best results, let hair sit in a plastic bag for 24 hours (10/1000 HIGHLY RECOMMEND). After allowing the conditioner to sit, rinse conditioner out completely. If the conditioner is not rinsed out properly it will lead to the hair feeling sticky. The water should be clear when rinsing.

Lastly, apply a good rich leave-in-conditioner as this helps to keep your hair super soft and moisturized after rinsing the water out. Allow your hair to air dry or dry under a hooded hair dryer under cool air. For curly hair textures a diffuser is also a really great option. Blow drying is not recommended because it can potentially cause hair strands breakage. Please remember to always tie your hair down with a satin scarf before bed. This minimize the friction between your hair and your pillow, which help prevents frizz and breakage of the hair. Never sleep on wet hair. 

 CURLY/WAVY HAIR TEXTURES

The "Wet Brush" or a soft tip paddle brush is highly recommended strictly for wavy and curly textures. It works wonders! 

All curly and wavy textures will need more maintenance than straight and body wave hair. To avoid any frizzing, shedding & tangling please create a good daily routine to maintain your curly hair. 

It is mandatory that you wet these textures daily and apply a defining curly cream or a generous amount of leave in conditioner to define your curls/waves and tame any frizz.

 APPLYING HEAT TO THE HAIR

 You should always use a heat protectant before applying heat to your hair to minimize breakage.

 A light weight hair oil such as Argan oil can be used as a heat protectant.

The products that you use on your hair is just as important as the quality of the hair. Adding too many products can result to tangling and shedding especially when added frequently. When it comes to our wigs, not that many products are needed. However, we do recommend using hydrating shampoo and conditioners with soothing properties to effectively maintain moisture levels and reduce frizz. Here are a few of our top recommended products.
