SHAMPOOING & DEEP CONDITIONING YOUR HAIR

Rinse your hair with cool water to help maintain the tightness of your curl pattern. Avoid using hot water, particularly when washing curly or wavy hair, as it can loosen the curls.

Always wash your hair in a downward motion to preserve its texture.

Steer clear of shampoos and conditioners containing sulfates, a pH level higher than 7, or alcohol, as these ingredients can damage the hair.

When detangling, make sure to apply conditioner first, and start from the ends, gently working your way up to the roots.

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR HAIR: DO'S AND DON'TS

Always co-wash your hair before installation for optimal results.

Avoid using small-tooth or fine combs, as they can snag the hair and lead to unnecessary shedding.

Consistent care is crucial to prevent your hair from becoming tangled, dirty, or damaged. Proper maintenance ensures that your hair stays in excellent condition and lasts as long as possible.

We recommend using a lightweight hair serum or oil to keep your hair nourished.

Avoid products that contain alcohol, as they can dry out the hair.

It's best to limit the use of multiple products, as this can cause buildup and create a residue on the hair.

Only use shampoos and conditioners that are free from silicones and sulfates. Silicones can build up on the hair, preventing moisture from penetrating the strands, while sulfates strip the hair of its natural moisture, leading to dryness.

BI-WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

We recommend washing your hair every two weeks to remove product buildup and excess oil. Always wet your hair thoroughly before applying shampoo, and wash with cool water. Co-washing is also a great alternative to shampoo. When using shampoo, be sure to rinse the hair thoroughly to ensure all product is removed.

After washing, apply conditioner throughout the hair and gently brush it through with a styling brush. Let the conditioner sit for at least 8-10 hours. For optimal results, we highly recommend leaving the hair in a plastic bag for 24 hours (10/10 would recommend!). Once the time has passed, rinse the conditioner thoroughly until the water runs clear. Improper rinsing can leave the hair feeling sticky, so be sure to remove all conditioner completely.

Finally, apply a rich leave-in conditioner to keep your hair soft and moisturized after rinsing. Allow your hair to air dry or use a hooded dryer with cool air. For curly textures, a diffuser is also a great option. We recommend avoiding blow-drying, as it can cause hair breakage. Always tie your hair with a satin scarf before bed to reduce friction between your hair and pillow, helping prevent frizz and breakage. And remember, never sleep on wet hair.

 CURLY/WAVY HAIR TEXTURES

For wavy and curly textures, we highly recommend using the "Wet Brush" or a soft-tip paddle brush. They work wonders in gently detangling and maintaining the integrity of your curls.

Curly and wavy textures require more maintenance than straight or body wave hair. To prevent frizz, shedding, and tangling, it's important to establish a consistent daily routine for your curly hair.

Be sure to wet these textures daily and apply a curl-defining cream or a generous amount of leave-in conditioner to enhance your curls or waves and control frizz.

 APPLYING HEAT TO THE HAIR

Always apply a heat protectant before using heat on your hair to prevent breakage.

A lightweight oil, like Argan oil, works great as a heat protectant.
